The New Deal Association Incorporated established the Burton Rd Cottage to provide a day activity and training centre for adults with an intellectual disability. They provide a quality, caring program focusing on the individual needs of people attending the centre in an environment of enjoyment and co-operation. A major component of the Cottages activities is regular community-based activities catering for the interests and abilities of trainees and fostering community integration. Programs also enable trainees to develop a range of skills to build independence, self esteem and confidence in everyday life skills. People with a disability and their families are encouraged to be involved in all aspects of service planning and implementation. People with a disability who attend the Cottage each week have the benefit of the creative skills and extensive experience of staff who are committed to quality service through innovative programs and genuine caring and support.

Provides a respite service for people who are frail aged, younger people with a disability and carers from a Middle Eastern background. The program aims to provide activities within a linguistically and culturally appropriate environment. Culturally appropriate lunch is included. Greenacres Retirement Options is a day service for people with a lifelong disability who are ageing. Support is provided to individuals to access the community. Services are provided 9 am - 3 pm. No service fee applies, however individuals are required to pay their own entrance/ admission charges when on outings and community activities. Transport provided.

Harmony Day Care (DADHC)

NSW, Australia

Service for people with an intellectual disability over 45 years of age. DOCS assess and refer applicants to Harmony. Packed lunch required, Blister packs for medication are compulsory. Centre is able to take people with incontinence. Building is accessible for people with a disability. Activities include: picnics, social and craft activities and outings. Waiting lists are very long, with priority given to those residing in group homes (DADHC).
