Safeguarding the rights and interests of people with an impaired capacity, including a mental illness or psychiatric disability; an intellectual disability; aquired brain injury or Dementia who live at inpatient mental health facilities or places where a person with an intellectual impairment is supported by a paid service provider. Visits occur on a regular basis, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly, where the visitor will help consumers to resolve complaints by providing them with information about their rights, deal with concerns about abuse and make referrals to other agencies where appropriate. clients have the right to speak to a Community visitor in private.
