About Bay of Isles Community Outreach (BOICO)

BOICO provides an outreach service for people with mental illness and aims to support and encourage its clients on their road to recovery. There are 2 programs offerred - psychosocial support and independent living skills. Both these programs aim to help people increase their capacity to function as independently as possible in the community. Respite for carers is also offerred and provides a break for the carer from all aspects of their caring role. This can be planned or unplanned(crisis) breaks according to the needs of the client and carer. Membership is required for participation in all BOICOs activities, outings and learning skills . Seminars, meetings and activities are held at Harmony Hse , 26 Morton Way . Carer support groups and networks are encouraged and assisted by BOICO. Clients must be referred by clinical case manager from Community Mental Health Services or GP. No self referrals.nLynda Smith is the support worker and Megan Sumner is the Co-ordinator .
