The Department's major focus is on meeting the needs of vulnerable children and families. It is responsible for protection and caring for children and of supporting people at risk of crisis.nStaff trained in child protection investigate reports and allegations of child maltreatment. These may include physical, sexual and emotional maltreatment as well as neglect.
