About Parent Help Centre

The parenting line is a free telephone service providing information and advice for people caring for children up to 18 years of age. Telephone the Parenting Line when you have questions about any aspect of parenting and want some information or guidance. You may want to know things like: what is normal behaviour for my child, who do I call when I need a break, how do I help my child avoid drugs, what help is there for children with special needs how can I help my child control their behaviour. Others programs on offer is the Positive Parenting Program is designed to promote positive, caring relationships between children and their parents and to help parents develop effective discipline strategies. Apart from improving parenting skills, the program aims to increase parents' sense of competence in their own parenting abilities, improve marital communication about parenting and reduce parenting stress. Telephone information and one-to-one sessions are offered. Updated February 2008.
