Seniors Mental Health Service offer a wide range of services and programs for seniors living in the Rockingham, Kwinana, Peel, Murray - Waroona areas.nThis is a multidisciplinary team with a psychiartrist as the head plus a psychologists and social workers . Although there is a clinic , the team goes to their residence for an assessment. From there the client is case managed for the next 3 months . Referral is from GPs and service providers but can self refer. Counselling , advice, support and respite are also provided or referred on to both the carer and the recipient. Also a Day Therapy Programme- using public transport , shopping , finances and using community resources(and other similar programs).They can help any person over the age of 65 who is experiencing a psychiatric disorder, a serious mental health problem or a significant behavioural problem associated with dementia.
