About Action on Disability Within Ethnic Communities (ADEC)

Provides-n- Individual Advocacy - information, referral, advocacy and support regarding legal rights and services for people from non-English speaking backgrounds with intellectual, psychiatric, socio-emotional or physical disabilities, including hearing or vision impairment, acquired brain injury and developmental delay in children.n- Education Unit - training service providers, community organisations and government departments on how to work effectively with non-English speaking people with disabilities.n- Multicultural Carers' and Disability Support Program - mutual support for ethnic carers of people with disabilities.n- Victorian Home and Community Care (HACC) Cultural Planning - liase with HACC programs to ensure they provide services that respond to the needs of the aged and people with disabilities from non-English speaking backgrounds.n- Transcultural Mental Health Access Program n- Multicultural Family Respite Program
