About Aged Care Housing for the Aged Program - ACHA

Assistance with Care and Housing for the Aged (ACHA): nThis program is federally-funded and is designed to assist older people with care and housing needs. A coordinator works with older people who are homeless, or live in accommodation that they do not own, and where additional on-going assistance is required, the recipients are then moved across to the case management team. The Assistance for Care and Housing for the Aged (ACHA) program helps to linknhomeless older people and those in insecure housing to care and accommodation.n ACHA providers are largely charitable or religious not-for-profit organisations, many of whom are also providers of community care services. ACHA providers work closely withnstate government housing authorities to help eligible clients to obtain betternaccommodation options. When more stable accommodation is arranged, the ACHA provider links the client to the community care services that will best meet the client's carenneeds.
