The Carers Retreat in South Perth is a two bedroom , fully furnished , air-conditioned apartment on the eighth floor of a residential block of units with views over the Swan River. The Retreat is reserved for the use of Primary Carers who are providing 24 hour , around the clock care for a family member or friend . It is not available for paid carers.There is a cost of $15 per night per person to help offset operational costs of maintaining the unit. Subsidised respite by an organisation will incur a cost of $25 per carer per night. A carer can access the Retreat up to a total of 14 nights per year. The maximum stay is 10 nights per year at one time with the minimum being 2 nights per year.Accessing the unit is by entry off Mill Point Road into darley Street and then into Ray street(at the rear of the Windsor Hotel). Anne who is a resinet in the block of units will meet and greet all guests upon arrival and give them a general orientation of the area.
