About Australian Red Cross Community Visitors Scheme

Australian Red Cross are providers of the Community Visitors Scheme for the following aged care facility: Wyoming Residential Aged Care Facility; Henry Kendall Hostel; Woodport Nursing Home; Woodport Hostel; Orana Hostel; Orana Nursing Home; Keith Payne Vietnam Veterans Memorial Hostel; Mathew John Nursing Home. The aim is to provide support to residents of Commonwealth subsidised aged care homes who are socially isolated, and whose quality of life would be improved by friendship and companionship. This friendship helps to connect the resident to the community and reduces their risk of isolation. The CVS is managed by community based organisations which recruit, train and support volunteer visitors.
