About Australian Red Cross Home Support Service

The Red Cross Home Support Service is a HACC funded Community Care programme. The aim of the programme is to provide a comprehensive and integrated range of basic support services for frail aged and other people with a disability, and their carers to assist people to remain living in their own homes. nHome Support Community Access - support from a trained volunteer or paid support staff to accompany clients to do shopping/banking/payment of bills and socialisation. Also able to assist with letter writing, internet support, light gardening, light home maintenance eg change light bulbs. Planned monthly group leisure activities.nFriendly Visitors - Planned home visits from a trained volunteer to clients unable to access the community.nHairdressing - Volunteer hairdressing from trained hairdressers for those who are unable to access the community (housebound).
