About Banyule Support and Information Centre

Banyule Support and Information centre is a community based voluntary information and referral service, staffed by trained personnel, most of whom are volunteers.nServices provided include - n- Information and supportn- Legal advice - offered weekly on wednesdays from 7pm by local practising solicitors.n- Counselling - offered once a fortnight on Tuesday morning by a qualified psychologist. n- Centrelink assistance - this service is for those who for some reason are unable or hesitant to go to the Centrelink office for help. Able to help with client enquiries regarding eligibility, entitlements, pensions and payments.n- Tax help - available to pensioners, retirees and low income wage earners. Available mid July to end of Oct yearly.n- Budgeting advice - provide advice on how to organise everyday finances and balance expenses with income.n- Financial assistance - emergency relief, back to school assistance, Telstra bill assistance program and utility relief grant scheme.
