About Buckingham House

Buckingham House is a non residential psycho-social project for individuals whose primary problem is psychiatric illness. The social programme provides a friendly place where people can meet, chat or get involved in some social activities (eg. music, drama, camping, movies, games and dances). The low cost restaurant provides subsidised meals and is open for lunch to members and friends. The day programme provides some structured activities to members in a friendly, relaxing and supportive atmosphere. This programme attempts to establish members into a flexible work routine and develop pre-vocational skills such as punctuality, reliability and concentration. Skills are taught in arts, craft and other creative activities, cooking. There are also regular outings and sport activities as well as work experience programmes. Also work programmes and living skills programs included.
