About Carer Support Team - Northern Sydney Central Coast Health

Carer Support is a strategy of NSW Health to promote and encourage recognition of carers as respected and valued partners in health care supported by the NSW Carers Action Plan 2007-2012. We aim to educate and support staff to identify and engage carers, increase the understanding of health professionals to the expressed needs of carers, identifiy and reduce access barriers to NSCC health services, and encourage the provision of timely and accurate information promoting carer independence and empowerment. While Carer Support offer information on a range of alternative options for carers to follow up. The team appreciates that each caring role is unique, therefore our information and advice is given as guidance only. Individual Carers may also contact the Carer Support Unit to provide information or suggestions for the further development of NSCCH services to better meet their needs as a carer.
