About Catholic Healthcare Community Services - Community Aged Care Packages

Mercy community care provides planned and coordinated packages of care to help frail older people to remain in their homes, rather than going into low level (hostel) care. Typical services include work around the house, personal care, meal preparation, transport, socialisation, lawn mowing, garden maintenance, bill paying, shopping, medicine monitoring and organisation of social activities. Note that for recipients of the pension, the maximum that may be charged for a CACP is 17.5% of the basic pension rate.
