Specialist service for children who are displaying symptoms of psychiatric illness or severe emotional or behavioural disturbance.nAll children need to be referred by a specialist paediatrician.nSchool age children need to be referred by a specialist paediatrician or GP.nNew referrals will be prioritised by need. Urgent referrals will be seen within 5 days. nRoutine referrals may have a waiting period of up to 6 - 8 weeks.nWork closely with school counsellors to maintain continuity of care for the child.n24hr telephone (1300 552 289) available to obtain information and advice. nThis is not an emergency service.
