About Christian Community Aid Inc - Financial Counselling Service

A free community service which assists people who are experiencing financial difficulties or who need information relating to credit and debt. The counsellors are qualified staff and volunteers who have a good knowledge of business, financial and para-legal matters as well as practical experience in budgeting. Common issues dealt with include overcommittment, legal action for a civil debt, uninsured car accidents, bankruptcy, mortgage action, credit card debt, debt consolidation, money management, access to superannuation, house eviction, and rental problems. Entitlements for government assistance may be assessed, a budget may be designed, advocacy or negotiation may be performed, details of rights and responsibilities given, and ongoing counselling provided. Seminars are also available on money management, budgeting and the use of credit.
