About Community Neurological Support Service (CNSS)

The Community Neurological Support Service is one of the teams within the Community Outreach and Therapy Services. CNSS provides two forms of service: n1. Intensive Multidisciplinary Home Based Rehabilitation - for clients with a recent neurological event (less than one month post event or discharge). Must have achievable goals and require input from a minimum of two therapists for a period of up to three months. n2. Four Week Stroke Education Group - for chronic stroke survivors and their carers. Participants may go on to therapy groups including an exercise group and a communication group. The service offers brief occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology, social work and dietetic intervention to people attending the group with a focus on enhancing quality of life. All clients MUST BE Medically stable, sixteen years of age or older; living at home or in a hostel on the Central Coast.
