About Depression Clinic

An outpatient based clinic providing sophisticated diagnostic and management assessments for people with depression. At the Depression Clinic * An initial interview is conducted by a research psychologist * the consultant psychiatrist then undertakes a detailed assessment and discusses with you the history and course of your depression or mood swings * All consultants meet to discuss each case and to reach a consensus diagnosis and plan of management. You will have a break during this discussion and may be asked to complete some simple psychological measures * The consultant will meet with you after this to summarise this discussion and to cover possible future management and medication options. If appropriate, the consultant may make arrangements to see you again * A report is sent back to the referral source and any other professional that you name as being involved with your management.nThe Depression Clinic is funded by South East Sydney Area Health Service.
