About Dept of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) - Residential Respite Care Payments

In any financial year, DVA will pay for 196 hours of in-home or 28 days residential respite care (daily care fee only) or a combination of both, for DVA White card(if eligible) or Gold card holders. Seven hours in-home respite is equivalent to one day in residential respite. The DVA cardholder file number and name, the proposed dates of admission and facility name should be provided to the Veterans' Home Care assessor.nVeterans do not source residential respite.
