About Eastern Area Tenants Service (EATS)

Provides free telephone information and advice about the rights of tenants who are starting a tenancy, wanting to leave, being evicted, needing repairs done or who owe rent. EATS can also assist with preparing cases for the Consumer Trader and Tenants Tribunal and advocate on a tenants behalf at the Tribunal. EATS provides education on tenants' rights for tenants with a disability and tenants from CALD. They are also involved in Law Reform Work relating to Tenancy issues.EATS does not provide advice to landlords, does not find or provide accommodation; does not assist with Dept of Housing applications and does not provide legal advice.
