About Fairfield City Council - Community Development Project

Community Development Position in a Local Government Context aiming to Advocate for social justice such as achieving better access for people with disabilities and older people by influencing Council's policy, management and priorities for these target groups. Also to assist the community in dealing with their issues of concern (regarding older people's issues and issues afftecting people with disabilities) through advocacy; supporting relevant networks; working in partnership with community agencies and providing professional support to workers working in the aged and disability field through these networks. Networks supported/convened by this position: the SW Sydney Ageing & Disability Forum (Former SW HACC Forum). the Fairfield Senior Network, the Carers & Consumers Forum.
