The service provides information and support to parents and carers to encourage the optimal physical, social and emotional health of their children from birth to 5 years.nThe Early Childhood Health Service is part of the Community Health Service, a unit of the Division of Population Health.nThe service is divided into three sectors - Camperdown, Croydon and Canterbury. A Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for each sector.nChild and Family Health Nurses who are Registered Nurses with specialised qualifications and experience in Child and Family Health Nursing and Social Workers experienced in counselling families with young children staff the Service. nTo provide a specialty service for the indigenous community the service includes the Aboriginal Health Education Officers.nThe service is supported by the following health professionals - doctors, nurse audiometrists, early childhood nutritionist, orthopedist, speechnpathologists, physiotherapist and occupational therapist.
