The Genetic counsellor will speak to clients about their family history of a genetic condition (some forms of dementia are inherited). They will see clients with a family history where 2 or more close relatives have had bowel cancer under the age of 50 years. Clients are encouraged to bring as much information as possible about their family's medical background (eg doctors letter and reports if available). At the appointment the counsellor will: Explain a diagnosis, and discuss its inheritance.
