Provides services to enhance independent mobility to anyone with a vision impairment. These include * assessment and training in orientation and mobility to people of all ages with vision impairment; * referrals to occupational therapists where required; * aids to mobility including guide dogs, * long canes, support canes and electronic aids; * low vision assessment and training; * compensatory training to people with a neurological vision impairment; * Pets As Therapy (PAT) dogs to provide companionship to people with special needs (not only those who are vision impaired); * advocacy and community education on the needs and rights of people with disabilities and staff training seminars for other service providers.
