About HeadEast
HeadEast assists people with an acquired brain injury to become more independent and to reintegrate into the community. A Community Access Worker assists individuals to set and achieve their own goals. These often include using transport independently, accessing training and education, developing recreational interests eg joining clubs and groups, finding voluntary work, accessing employment services, increasing support networks, addressing memory and organisation difficulties, achieving independence at home and in the community eg. meal preparation, budgeting and shopping. The Program targets up to 35 clients at any one time. An associated support group (Mindfields) meets on the 1st Wed of each month from 12.30pm -2.30pm at the Church in the Marketplace Bondi Junction. If clients are experiencing problems with substance abuse they must be seeking assistance to address this and be motivated to change this aspect of their lives in order to be eligible for assistance.
