Lonsdale House is the recipients of the Community Organisation Category Peter won the Caregiver Category at the Fraser Coast Disability Achievement Awards 2014.rnrnHervey Bay Day Care and Respite Centre Inc. is an initiative of the Australian and Queensland Governments under the HACC and Community Care Programs. We have been in operation in the Hervey Bay area since 1988 in one capacity or another. We cater for the Frail aged, or at risk aged persons with moderate to severe disability, younger persons with a disability and the Carers of these people.rnrnThe Centre is open 9am to 2pm daily (closed on public holidays) providing morning tea and a two course midday meal, which caters to suit most diets, e.g. diabetics, vegetarian etc. Transport is provided to and from the Centre, by two buses both with two wheelchair spaces on each bus.rnrnLonsdale House is set apart by offering superior service in:rn• Assisting our clients by working with their individual needsrn• Caring for our clients because they are our highest priorityrn• Providing our services to persons of all ages and culturesrn• Promoting choice, lifestyle and independencernrnWe believe in the personal worth of each individual, therefore we are committed to assisting the Frail Aged, Younger persons with a disability and carers in the Hervey Bay Community to achieve and maintain their maximum level of independence within their home environment.
