Provides necessary in home modification and maintenance to frail older people and people with a disability of all ages or their carers such as - adjustment and advice on building related matters. Referral for a high level scheme is available. Examples of modification and maintenance work are internal and external ramps, external pipe handrails, internal grab rails for bathrooms, hand held showers, repairs to gutters, windows doors, floors steps and paths, plumbing and minor electrical work, removing hob from shower recess, wheelchair access bathrooms, chair and bed raise. Can do a limited amount of lawn mowing and gardening. Each job is prioritised. Each client is assessed individually on their ability to pay for works and advised of the subsidised cost to carry out the work. If client is unsure what their needs are it is advisable to have the Community Occupational Therapist to do an assessment 4320 3473 (listed separately)
