About Home Modification and Maintenance Service

The service provides a comprehensive home modification program for eligible clients to assist them to remain in their own homes rather than being placed in long term care. Examples of services available include: modification to bathrooms, toilets and kitchens (eg hand held showers, grab rails, removal of shower knobs); access modifications (eg hand rails, alterations to steps, installation of ramps); internal and external maintenance work (eg carpentry, minor plumbing, other small jobs); furniture modifications adjustments (eg chair raisers), lawn mowing, one off yard clean ups. Modifications must be first assessed by Occupational Therapists.
