About Illawarra Advocacy

Illawarra Advocacy offers two models of advocacy to people with disabilities living in the Illawarra.nnIndividual advocacy- We aim to support, protect and defend the rights, interests and welfare of people with disabilities by providing them with advocacy support. Staff will strive to address instances of injustice, discrimination, abuse and neglect to make a positive and sustainable difference in their life.nnCitizen Advocacy- We seek out supporting caring and responsible citizens to act voluntary to make a positive difference in the life of a person with a disability who may be isolated, face difficult challenges or be in a risky situation. The advocate helps to resolve issues, open doors to new opportunities and in most instances, provide protection and spokesmanship over many years.n
