About Illawarra Brain Injury Service

Provides outpatient community-based rehabilitation to residents of the Illawarra and Shoalhaven who have an acquired/ traumatic brain injury.nProvides individual and group programs which are client focused and goal directed.nSome of the programs include: memory strategies, diary training, communication skills, social skills, relaxation training, and Anger Management.nAlso provides individual counselling, education and support for carers and the community. Carer Support Group 1st Tuesday of every month at Headway Illawarra from 10 am to 12 noon. Contact Janet for further details.nA Full time Psychologist is available.nA Part Time Psychologist is available in the Shoalhaven region.nExercise scientist and Paediatric worker available, as well as a full time Social Worker, Part time Speech Pathologist and Part time Occupational Therapist.nReferrals from acute and rehabilitation hospitals, individuals, GPs and community agencies is accepted.
