There are 51 low care beds, which includes 2 respite beds. 23 beds are located in the Douro Lodge dementia specific unit, which includes 1 respite place. There are also 15 completely self contained Self Care Units, with residents caring for themselves, but with access to services from Kanandah if necessary. Security is a feature of the units, with residents having a Vital Call system linked to Kanandah staff so that in an emergency, residents only have to press a button. There is also 24 hour video surveillance. nIn addition, Kanandah Retirement Ltd provides 20 Community Aged Care Packages, which are planned and managed packages of community care services to help older people with complex care needs remain living in their own homes.
