About Kiama Council Respite

Respite services are provided to carers to strengthen and maintain the caring relationship by providing a break from their caring responsibilities.nThe service can be provided from the home of the care recipient on a one-to-one individual basis. The aim during this time is to provide the care recipient with social support and interaction from a substitute carer while the primary carer engages in other activities outside the home.nThe Kiama Council Community Support Respite Service also operates a bowling outing on Tuesday evenings for younger people with a disability.
