About Kirkwood House

Kirkwood House is a centre-based community mental health service situated in the grounds of James Fletcher Hospital. Kirkwood offers a range of group based programs for individual with a dual diagnosis. These included motivational groups for inpatients, psychoeducation groups and support groups for clients and their families. Kirkwood House is a post detoxification unit. Clients are required to be detoxed prior to attendance to the unit. The two week program is abstinence based and includes information, clarification and discussion on various drugs and alcohol issues as well as personal living skills, coping skills and relapse prevention strategies.
