The Legal Aid Commission gives free legal ADVICE on Family law (by appointment at Gosford and in Sydney); CSA Child Support; Civil Law on Housing law; Consumer law; Discrimination and other human rights law; Social Security; Migration (available only in Sydney); Mental health and Guardianship is available by appointment. Appts. are usually limited to 20 minutes. If the client needs MORE THAN legal advice, a lawyer can be provided to help with their case. This is called grant of legal aid and Application forms are available at a Legal Aid office or from duty lawyers at local courts. Grant of Legal Aid is generally Free, however contributions may be required for some legal matters.
