About Macarthur Dementia Day Care and Support Service - Rosemeadow
The day care centre operates on a Wednesday, Friday and the 3rd Monday of the month. It provides a secure, home like atmosphere where people with mild to severe memory problems have freedom to move about and socialise in safety and comfort, whilst providing respite for carers. Activities are designed to stimulate interest without increasing confusion. Lunch and transport are included. A support group for carers of people with dementia also operates in Broughton House on the third Monday of each month at 1:30pm to 3:30pm. The aim is to support carers and to help avoid early institutionalisation for the person living with dementia. A bi-monthly newsletter is provided along with carer education and a support group (see seperate listing).
