About Newcastle Mental Health Service

Specialist Mental health team. Services include triage and assessment, short term counselling, crisis management and support, referral, mental health education, psycho-social group intervention and family support. They offer a mental health out patient service, outreach services. Services include: A Referral rights to a 20 bed inpatient unit at James Fletcher Hospital. Extended hours Mon-Fri 5pm - 10pm, Sat & Sun 9am - 10pm. Extended hours service can be contacted via the Psychiatric Emergency Centre on 1800 655 085. Do not offer generalist counselling services, assistance with activities of daily living, clients with dementia or accommodation services.
