Community Housing Lower North Shore provides housing and advice and assistance on matters relating to housing for residents of the Willoughby, Lane Cove, Northern Sydney and Mosman Local Government Authorities, together with some municipalities in Warringah, Manly and Ryde. The waiting list for support is needs based. Applicants wishing to apply need to fulfil the following criteria: they need to be on the Department of Housing's waiting list or be intending to apply; they will need to receive a low income (social security payment or low wage); they will need to live on the Lower North Shore or have a high need to move to the area, such as escaping harassment, receiving long term treatment at a hospital in the area, to be near family and friends for support etc. Types of housing available include: boarding houses and a few one bed flats for singles, flats and some houses for families and self-contained flats for couples.
