The Ethnic Community Liaison Officer (ECLO) facilitates communication between police and ethnic communities by increasing community awareness about what constitutes crime and ways to report it. ECLOs also develop and implement community education programs on safety and crime prevention, provide victim support and language assistance where appropriate.
