About Nursing Home and Hostel Liaison Service (NHHILS) - Eastern Suburbs

The service maintains a central waiting list of Eastern Suburbs area residents and Prince of Wales Hospital inpatients assessed as needing nursing home care, hostel, CACPs or EACH packages. NHHILS also provides access to up date information on the nursing homes and hostels to prospective residents, carers and health professionals. NHHILS operates within the Eastern Suburbs Aged Care Assessment Team. The service contacts nursing homes each day for vacancy information and hostels once a week to ascertain waiting times. It is advised not to limit applications to those on the available list but to get on waiting lists of any accommodation that is suitable.
