PADP is a NSW Health Program that provides aids and equipment long term to people with a permanent disability. An appropriate therapist or clinician must make an assessment and recommendation.Applicants do not have to be on a benefit to apply to PADP. Children under 16 years of age must apply through Calvary (CRAGS) PADP. Oxygen supplies can be applied for through PADP but are supplied through the 'Home Oxygen Program'and eligibility is means tested. Continence supplies are available through PADP to persons over 5 years of age but an assessment and referral by a continence advisor is required. $100 co payment is an annual fee for consumable products ie. continence, shoes, prosthesis, feeding accessorise such as tubes, bottles etc. $100 co payment for ADL's (aids to daily living ie wheelchair, mobility aids etc) is a one off payment for any equipment issued in a 12 month period, should a new and different piece of equipment be required after the 12mth period they will be billed again.
