The Council's role is to ensure, as far as practicable, that safe and competent nursing is available to the people of Queensland. In partnership with consumers, the profession and other groups, the council develops, implements and monitors standards for the registration, education, practice and conduct of nurses. These standards for safe and competent nursing are essential for the protection of consumers. Also registers nurses.
