RTA provides advice and determines eligbility for: driver licensing, vehicle registration, road rules and mobility parking scheme (MPS) permits. MPS provides parking concessions and access to appropriate parking spaces in proximity to essential services for people with mobility disabilities. For parking permits clients need to obtain from RTA a medical assessment form to take to their GP.nFor older drivers RTA has available The older Driver's Handbook which aims to give drivers information about how to determine whether they are still driving safely.nAnnual medical assessments and driving test apply to all drivers from 80 years and over.
