About Service for The Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors (STARTTS)

NSW service for the treatment and rehabilitation of torture and trauma survivors helps refugees recover from their experiences and build a new life in Australia. Services include assessment and counselling for individuals and families, early intervention program for refugees soon after arrival, youth program for ages 8-24, soccer programs, camps and group activities for children and young people. Training for organisations working with refugees. There are a number of group programs that range from skill based to counselling and therapy groups. Additional services offered include Families in Cultural Transition Program, Community Education Program, Community Support Program, Psychiatry, Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, Refugee Transitions magazine on international matters concerning human rights, Student Placements/Organisational Visits for students.
