The South West Sydney Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre provides information, advice and support about respite options available to carers, including both residential respite and also ongoing services available. The SW Commonwealth Carers Respite Centre can also provide emergency and short-term/temporary respite both in and out of the home. Carer Respite can obtain financial assistance for crisis respite, training in carers skills, counselling and referral to other services.nnThe Mental Health Respite Program aims to help carers (55 yrs & over) caring for someone with mental illness, intellectual disability or autism. This is a short term or emergency respite program to relieve exhausting or overwhelming carers in assisting them with domestic services/daily living skills, in-home respite/supervision, carer training, and travel for family/friends to provide substitute care.
