SCI's Rehabilitation and Peer Support team * Puts people in touch with others who have been through similar difficulties * Provides counselling * nGives information about suitable services * nProvides support or advocacy when there are difficulties obtaining a service * Assists in the selection of aids and pieces of equipment to make life easier * Recommend changes to the home, educational institution or workplace to ensure better access * Provide a community development role by identifying barriers and gaps in services and actively lobbying for additional or more appropriate services * Present public education training sessions to people and organisations on topics such as Disability Awareness and Access.
