The Anxiety Disorders Clinic is a specialist clinic providing assessment and treatment for adults with Social Phobia, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, and Body Dysmorphic Disorder. All treatment programs involve Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). CBT involves education about the nature and causes of anxiety and panic, techniques for managing the physical symptoms of anxiety and panic, techniques for managing anxious thoughts, and graded exposure to previously feared or avoided situations. Please note: English comprehension and reading skills at a school certificate level are required, patients who are abusing alcohol or taking benzodiazepines must be free of these before treatment may commence, and patients whose anxiety disorder is the subject of legal proceedings for financial compensation are not accepted into treatment programs.
