About St Vincent's Hospital - HIV Social Work Team

A social work service provided to people with HIV/AIDS who attend the hospital. Social work assistance that may be provided includes: counselling and emotional support; respite care; accommodation, travel assistance and financial services; Switched On Living program. HIV/AIDS Unit provides: inpatient care; outpatient clinic; social work services; nutrition; occupational therapy; physiotherapy; laboratory services; outpatient pharmacy; education and neuropsychiatry. Information about support services such as home care and community nursing; assistance with accommodation. There are also support groups for bereavement counselling, partners groups, family support for people affected by HIV, their families and their partners. Groups are open to people in the community.
