About Strong Families - Northam

A support service for families experiencing complex problems. Service brings family members and agency workers together to share relevant information, identify goals and develop a plan to help meet the family's needs.The Strong Families Program is based on the Strengthening Families strategy developed and implemented nationally in New Zealand. Strong Families is an interagency case management approach to working with families with complex needs. While the Department for Community Development is the agency responsible for overall implementation, the program is conducted as an interagency initiative in which all of the key stakeholders have a strong sense of ownership. A Monitoring group of senior representatives from the main participating agencies oversees state-wide implementation and progress. Local Regional Managers' Forums provide leadership and support for the Coordinators and are responsible for the implementation of Strong Families locally.
