About Telecross - Western Region
There are 39 Telecross centres across NSW, operating 365 days a year. Each morning, a trained Red Cross volunteer makes a short, friendly phone call to ensure that the client is safe and well. If the call is not answered, a second call is made. If there is still no response, Red Cross initiates an emergency procedure and arranges assistance as required. Telecross can be provided on a temporary basis, during a period of rehabilitiation or when a carer is absent. Anyone who might benefit from a daily phonecall for security, or to combat social isolation, is welcome to apply. Although the majority of Telecross clients are elderly, the service does not preclude people with disabilities or young clients who are medically dependent. Telecross has been established in the following towns in the Western Region: Dubbo, Forbes, Gunnedah, Narrabri, Tamworth, Mudgee, Young, Grenfell, Cowra, and Manilla.n6884 6061 is direct Telecross No. and should not be used as a contact No. for enquiries.
